Youth Climate Action Grants (City of Melbourne & Bloomberg Philanthropies)
The Youth Climate Action Grants program, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and local city leadership, provides micro-grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to empower young people ages 15–24 to design, lead, and implement urgent climate solutions within their communities.
Selected youth projects receive direct project funding, technical assistance, and mentorship from local sustainability experts. Eligible projects include local biodiversity restoration, youth climate summits, waste reduction campaigns, renewable energy awareness, and community resilience initiatives.
Global Youth Climate Training (GYCT)
The Global Youth Climate Training Programme (GYCT) is a free, fully online capacity-building initiative co-led by the Global Youth Coalition and researchers from Oxford Net Zero. It equips young leaders aged 16–35 with the critical knowledge, policy tools, and confidence required to engage directly in international climate policy and negotiation processes.
Participants gain access to expert-led lectures and interactive workshops covering core topics such as climate finance, energy transition, and international policy frameworks. Designed for accessibility, the training is conducted remotely to ensure emerging youth advocates worldwide can build essential skills for driving global climate action.
Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Youth Leadership Grants
Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Youth Leadership Grants provide micro-grants ranging from $250 to $1,000 to empower young people to design and lead community action projects. The program supports youth-driven initiatives focused on helping people, animals, and the shared environment.
Recipients receive direct project seed funding alongside step-by-step toolkits and resources to turn their sustainability ideas into action. Open to individuals and youth groups worldwide, the program requires no prior experience and accepts applications on a rolling basis.
Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes
The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is a youth grant and recognition program that honors outstanding young leaders ages 8–18 who have made a significant positive impact on people, communities, and the environment. The program celebrates public-spirited youth driving real change through hands-on conservation and social action projects.
25 young leaders are selected as winners and receive a $10,000 grant to support their higher education or fund their ongoing environmental service project. Recipients also gain access to a network of young changemakers and widespread media recognition to amplify their sustainability work.
The Pollination Project Youth Environmental Grants
The Pollination Project provides micro-grants to grassroots environmental initiatives led by passionate youth worldwide. The program funds early-stage projects focused on climate justice, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, and community recycling programs.
Selected project leaders receive seed grants of up to $1,000 along with access to administrative resources and capacity-building networks. The application process operates on a continuous, year-round basis with no geographic restrictions or prerequisites.
